Ukhaa khudag is one of Mongolia’s most advanced private mining projects, featuring fully integrated extraction, processing, transportation, and marketing operations. Every stage, from initial exploration to long-term mine planning, strictly aligns with stringent national regulations and international best practices.

Energy Resources operates the Ukhaa khudag open-pit coal mine in Tsogttsetsii soum, Umnugobi aimag, 560 km from Ulaanbaatar. In operation since 2009, the Ukhaa khudag mine has an annual production capacity of 15 million tonnes. The site features comprehensive operational infrastructure, including an on-site coal analysis laboratory with a capacity of 80,000 samples annually, heavy equipment workshop facilities, a mine office, and state-of-the-art simulator training equipment. To date, over 1,800 people have been trained as heavy machinery operators and maintenance technicians at Ukhaa khudag and secured full-time employment.
