Operational at Ukhaa khudag since 2011, the 18 MW power plant stands as the first major project built entirely by experienced Mongolian engineers. The power plant not only supports the full electricity needs of the CHPP and mining operations but also provides a reliable power supply to Tsogttsetsii soum. Engineered specifically for the arid Gobi climate, the facility incorporates advanced technologies, including a dry-cooling system and zero water consumption. Consequently, it uses 4 to 5 times less water than regular water-cooling systems commonly used across Mongolia. Furthermore, the power plant's design fully complies with applicable environmental standards established by the World Bank and other international institutions. Demonstrating steady operational reliability, the power plant has achieved 10 consecutive years of generating 100 million kWh of electricity annually.
